09/04/24 | MINUTE ORDER by Magistrate Judge Steve B. Chu: In receipt of the parties' August 30, 2024 Joint Notice of Discovery Dispute regarding the deposition of Plaintiff's Chief Technical Officer, the Court GRANTS Defendants' motion to compel Plaintiff to produce Mr. Ring for deposition. Although the fact discovery deadline was extended to September 24, 2024 for the limited purpose of completing outstanding third-party discovery, the Court finds it appropriate to include the previously noticed deposition of Mr. Ring within this extension due to the numerous prior cancellations and rescheduling attempts with regard to the scheduling of his deposition. The Court notes that disputes regarding the scheduling of a deposition should be resolved independently, without requiring court intervention. To date, the parties have required Court intervention for discovery matters on numerous occasions. Despite this history, the Court expects the parties to work together to move the case forward and avoid any unnecessary delays. Defendants' request for sanctions is denied. Signed by Magistrate Judge Steve B. Chu on 9/4/2024. (no document attached) (mef1) (Entered: 09/04/2024) | |
