MINUTE entry before the Honorable John F. Kness: Before the Court is Plaintiff's motion [Dkt. 15] for entry of default against Defendant Nanyang Jianling Trading Co. Ltd. The Court previously informed Defendant that a company cannot appear pro se and gave Defendant until December 2, 2024 to obtain a lawyer, appear through counsel, and file an answer to Plaintiff's Complaint. [Dkt. 13.] That deadline has now passed without Defendant's compliance. Accordingly, for the reasons stated previously (see Dkt. [13] , [16] ), default is entered against Defendant under Rule 55(a) of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. Any motion for entry of a default judgment, with any supporting materials, must be filed on or before 1/6/2025. Within seven days of filing, Plaintiff must (by certified mail, email, or other reliable method) provide Defendant with both a copy of this order of default and Plaintiff's motion for default judgment (if any) and must file proof of service of those documents within three business days. Service may be effected via electronic means in accordance with the Court's previous order. (Dkt. [8] .) A status hearing for tracking purposes is set for 1/29/2025 at 9:00 A.M. The parties are to use the following call-in number: 1-855-244-8681, Access Code: 2315 003 3696. The public and media representatives may have access to the hearing via the same number. Audio recording of the hearing is not permitted; violations of this prohibition may result in sanctions. Participants are directed to keep their device muted when they are not speaking.
